“Snow White” – A fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm

Who doesn't know the fairy tale about the girl “as white as snow, as red as blood and as black as ebony” and her stepmother, who is completely overambitious when it comes to beauty. Beauty mania and good looks as a leitmotif? We know that only too well. This beauty theme runs through the entire fairy tale. The conflict with the stepmother is based on it, the dwarves are enraptured by her looks, a fact that was even thematized in mediocre porn films of the 70s, and the prince is also blown away by her beauty – even though she is lying in a glass coffin. A fetish? The images in this fairy tale hold a mirror up to our faces and it doesn't even have to be a magic mirror to make us face the facts. And when we discover the wicked stepmother in ourselves, we often talk about having neglected good and done evil, put on the red-hot slippers of the soul and spin around until we can't take it anymore.
