Death and Funerary Culture in Leipzig”A printed English guide to the exhibition is available at the entrance. This exhibition examines the traces of where and how earlier generations were laid to rest in Leipzig. What was the situation in Leipzig for members of other religions – and what is it like today ? The City History Museum invites the visitors to go on this journey of discovery – a journey which will include astonishing and fascinating insights – rather than only moments of morbid despair.

Here, tradition and modernity merge to create an art exhibition and an artistic interpretation of a pagan temple. Visitors are invited to cross the threshold and leave the profane behind.

The Pewter Figurine Museum is one of the largest museums of its kind in Europe. Over 100,000 pewter figures are presented on three floors. One of the highlights is the large diorama, covering approx. 25 square metres, of the fighting on October 18, 1813 on the southern battlefield of the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig.Free admission is granted to visitors of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen.
